Held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on 27 and 28 June, Hobbies Fair 2026 brought hobbyists, creators and communities together for a weekend of discovery.
Visitors could explore different interests through exhibitor booths, live demonstrations and scheduled workshops. The event welcomed both experienced hobbyists and curious beginners looking for something new to try.
Artzei Studio at Hobbies Fair 2026
As part of the fair’s public workshop programme, Artzei Studio ran a scheduled pop-up session of our Mahjong Wind Tile Keycap Workshop.
Inspired by the familiar East, South, West and North tiles found in mahjong, the workshop introduced participants to artisan keycap making through UV resin, Jesmonite casting and hand-painted details.

Creating the Wind Tile Keycaps
Participants began by working with UV resin to form the character details within their selected Wind tile moulds. Once cured, pigmented Jesmonite was prepared and poured into the moulds to create the body of each keycap.
After the pieces had set, they were demoulded and finished with acrylic paint to bring out the individual Wind characters.
A Complete Set to Bring Home
At the end of the workshop, each participant received a complete matching set of East, South, West and North Wind tile keycaps.
The finished pieces could be used on a mechanical keyboard or assembled with mechanical switches as a tactile desk piece inspired by a mahjong table.
Hobbies Fair 2026 gave us the opportunity to share artisan keycap making with a public audience and introduce participants to a new creative hobby through a familiar mahjong-inspired design.
