Need a one-off prototype, custom part or small batch of printed pieces? Artzei Studio provides FDM 3D printing in Singapore for individuals, makers and small teams. We print in-house using PLA, PETG and TPU on our Prusa 3D printers.

We accept a limited number of projects at a time so that each file can be reviewed properly. Send us your 3D file or project requirements, and we’ll confirm whether it is suitable for FDM printing, recommend a material and provide a quote with the expected timeline.

What is FDM Printing?

FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) is a 3D printing process that builds a piece layer by layer, melting a spool of plastic filament and depositing it precisely to form the final shape. It's one of the most common and accessible 3D printing methods, known for producing strong, functional parts across a wide range of materials — which is why we've built our printing service around it.

Unlike resin (SLA) printing, which cures liquid resin with light for very fine detail, FDM works with solid filament and is generally better suited to functional, everyday-use parts than to ultra-fine decorative detail.

What to Expect From FDM Prints

FDM is a great fit for a lot of projects, but it's not the right process for everything. Here's an honest look at where it excels and where it has limits.

Strengths

Strong, functional parts — well suited to anything that needs to hold up to actual use, not just look good
A wide material range (PLA, PETG, TPU) covering rigid to flexible needs
More budget-friendly than resin printing for larger or functional pieces
Fast to iterate — a good fit for prototypes and one-off custom items

Worth Knowing

Visible layer lines are part of the process — FDM generally has more visible layer lines and does not produce the fine detail or smoother surface finish associated with resin printing.
Fine, highly detailed pieces (tiny text, intricate small features) are usually better suited to resin printing than FDM
Not ideal for fully watertight or airtight parts without extra post-processing

Materials We Offer

PLA Basic / PLA+

A versatile, easy-to-finish material and our most commonly used option. PLA holds fine detail well and finishes cleanly, making it a strong choice for models, display pieces, and prototypes where visual accuracy matters more than heavy-duty durability.

Good for: display pieces, models, low-stress prototypes, decorative items, one-off custom prints

PETG

A tougher, more durable step up from PLA, with better resistance to impact and everyday wear. PETG holds up well in functional parts that get handled regularly, and copes better with mild heat exposure than PLA.

Good for: functional parts, brackets and mounts, everyday-use items, pieces that need to survive some drops or knocks

TPU 95A

A flexible, rubber-like material for parts that need to bend, stretch, or absorb impact rather than stay rigid. TPU is durable and holds up to repeated flexing without cracking, though it prints more slowly than PLA or PETG.

Good for: phone cases, straps and bands, grips, protective parts, anything that needs give rather than rigidity

You can send us a ready-to-print STL or 3MF file for review. If you do not have a file, share your idea, reference images and dimensions, and we’ll let you know whether design assistance is possible.

We currently offer PLA, PETG and TPU. Tell us whether your piece needs to be rigid, durable or flexible, and we can recommend a suitable material.

Our build volumes are 250 × 210 × 220 mm (Prusa MK4s) and 250 × 220 × 270 mm (Prusa CORE One+). Larger designs may be split into multiple parts for printing and assembled afterwards.

Turnaround depends on the size, quantity, complexity and current print schedule. We’ll confirm a realistic timeline after reviewing your file. Completed orders can be collected or delivered within Singapore.

No, we are unable to do so at the moment. Multi colored prints will require parts to be modeled and printed separately for assembly.

Yes. We take on single prints, prototypes and small batches, including personalised pieces for corporate gifting and events. Larger quantities will be assessed based on the design and required timeline.
